Old Dean’s House

Located in the heart of the city, it dates back to the 15th century, when it was built as a home for the Archbishopric’s Dean.

This majestic building has two stories with an impressive façade that features pointed arches over its windows and doors. Its construction consists mainly of brickwork, which makes it stand out from other structures around it. In addition, its interior has been carefully decorated with frescoes depicting scenes from religious life during that time period.

The house also served as a refuge for those who sought shelter during times of war or famine, such as during the Spanish Civil War, when many people were fleeing their homes due to fear and violence. It was also used by various groups throughout history including intellectuals, artists, politicians, and even criminals.

Today, Old Deans House stands proudly in Tarragona as a symbol of resilience and strength against all odds. Despite being heavily damaged by bombings during World War II, this beautiful structure still stands tall thanks to extensive restoration efforts made after the war ended. It now serves both locals and tourists alike; visitors can take guided tours through its halls, where they can learn about its rich history while admiring its stunning architecture at close range.

If you’re looking for an interesting place to explore on your next trip to Tarragona, then be sure not to miss Old Dean’s House – you won’t regret it.
